Koningsdag

It’s the birthday of the Dutch king today, a national holiday in the Netherlands. For the first time in three years it’s possible to have the street parties and free markets traditionally associated with Konings/Koninginnedag again. And since our royals are from the house of Orange, orange is the colour you’ll see everywhere. It’s mostly a fun day with people selling their unwanted stuff to people who do want it and neighbourhood street parties. We’ll toast to the king and his family with our neighbours later this afternoon on our little cul-de-sac square.
