Tuesday's Wander

Today I went for a wander from Threlkeld and had a walk up to Skiddaw house, which is only accessible by foot or mountain bike as it's location is so remote on the fell, it was originally built as a gamekeeping lodge back in the 1800's but now it's a youth hostel. I often wonder when I see remote Bothys or farm houses in the valleys and on the fell side how long it took them to build them or how they even managed to build them in such a remote area.
