Water garden

As usual on a Wednesday, I met my friend J for our morning walk around the district. It was cloudy but pleasant enough and we set to, discussing world affairs. There is so much to debate at the moment: Ukraine, the economic crisis, covid and the new cluster of cases of an unknown hepatitis in children. In fact we were so engrossed in our debates that when we had done with walking we repaired to her garden for coffee and more analysis. The photograph is of J's beautiful garden pond and waterfall which provided a soothing background to our conversation. We solved nothing but concluded that there is so much uncertainty, instability and atrocity in the world that it is hard to maintain a cheerful disposition; much more difficult than it was during the pandemic lockdowns.
