A special treat

Today is my release day! And Jon wanted to take me out for a treat.

It is also ANZAC day and a public holiday. We watched a few highlights from dawn services across Australia.

Many meaningful celebrations were held with touching tributes to those who have served their country. So special, and it’s always good to stop and remember those who’ve sacrificed their lives for the safety of so many.

Jon had originally wanted to go out for brunch but we were sadly too late so ended up having lunch.

We walked around Gympie Terrace looking for somewhere. It was very pleasant outside and so good to be amongst people again.

We ended up at The Boathouse, which we’ve had fish and chips from before. But today we were inside, and had the most fabulous fusion meal. Will definitely be going back there!

Then a nice long country drive as we just didn’t want to be indoors, even though it was raining.

And that’s another long weekend, done and dusted. One more next weekend for Labour Day.
