Hereford

We went into Hereford today and explored the cathedral. There is always plenty to see in a cathedral, but here the main excitement is the Mappa Mundi, the medieval map of the world. It is an incredible survivor, and I found it astonishing the knowledge of the world at that time it showed. ( Extra) Also in extra is a view of the cathedral close. There were few people about, either in the cathedral or outside.
We left the city and drove out into the countryside where we found a small cosy pub with a log fire, just right on a chilly day.
