Shoplifters' delight

Edinburgh, mid morning, and I'm on the escalator in the John Lewis store heading for the St James' Centre. Suddenly the lights go out and we grind to a halt. Seconds later the emergency lights go on, and the excellent staff of JL guide us to the exits. Meanwhile there's probably a handful of thieves making whoopee in the dark, happy in the knowledge that the CCTV would be off. I hope they cut their fingers off while trying to remove the security tags!!

90 minutes later and I'm heading back to my car, amazed that people would actually queue up to enter the St James' Centre. For those that haven't visited Edinburgh, it's in the top ten ugliest buildings in the world!!
