From Grevelingen to Boulogne-sur-Mer
We slept with our clothes on. Suppose we were to get as cold as it was a week ago.
It is wonderful to cycle along the coast. We mainly chose the main coastal road. Once we deviated from it and opted for the EuroVélo 4, but we had to pay for it with very steep roads and to my disappointment we didn't pass through villages. The villages give me the atmosphere of the area.
We climbed the Cap Blanc-Nez and saw the white cliffs of Dover in the distance.
In Boulogne-sur-Mer I booked a room in a hotel in the centre. Tonight we walked over the thick walls of the old medieval fortress. The walls are built on the foundation of the ancient Roman castellum Bolonea.
This location is the start of our Via Belgica to Cologne.
