For Stevie

Spent a couple of hours today watching the Livestream of Stevie's funeral, very moving. Our son, Paul, did an excellent job of leading a lot of the service, and talking about him; they were good friends and both were third culture kids, so there was empathy between them.

Stevie was an exceptional person, always cheerful, always kind, and gifted academically, in sports, artistically (including photography) and musically, as well as being a good cook, and speaking several languages fluently. His Mum was Dutch; he grew up in Mozambique, his long-time girlfriend from Costa Rica; he died in Canada - you can imagine the mix of languages at the service. So hard for his Dad and sister; his Mum died of cancer when he was about ten.

Gratefuls:
- being able to be at the service because of technology
- getting all the bedding and towels washed, all of ours, and then the guests who stayed here while we were gone; it took several machine loads; one lot is still hanging on the line
- getting some admin work done as well

See here for colour version, blip snap with my daughter.
And here for an example of his photography, and a wonderfully appropriate poem (copied below for those who don't follow my friend).
