Falling apart.
(I am writing this on wednesday)
This is the Princess Selandia which is moored in the docks at Barrow-in-Furness.
She used to be a busy ferry carrying passengers around Europe according to the interweb and she still is or definitely was being used as a nightclub/entertainment complex.
She's really looking run down and decrepid so maybe not being used anymore for this purpose. Hard to tell on a sunny tuesday afternoon.
We sat beside her as we were gathering our thoughts and trying to get some grip on the situation with my Mum who we'd just been to visit in hospital.
Very emotional as her situation seems bleak.
She has been getting progressively weaker physically over many years as she has MS but always been very strong mentally, in the middle of writing a novel, does councelling etc but now something has happenened which means she's lost that too. They are not sure if it's the MS striking suddenly in her head or an infection for which she is getting strong antibiotics for. She recognised us but didn't seem to be interested or getting any comfort from having us there with her and couldn't speak apart from the odd yes or no and didn't seem to have any idea where she was or what was happening.
All very distressing and very upsetting especially as she is a 3 1/2 hour drive away so hard to know whether to stay or come home. We decided to come home and will go down at the weekend again. Have to keep phoning the hospital to check if there has been any improvement.
I'll try and stay perky on Blip and won't mention it again but might not be able to keep up with all my messages/replies for which I appologise in advance.
