Lapwing
It's cold today, 10ºC with a stiff breeze. We drove to a wetland nature reserve a few miles away hoping to see some chicks, but I think the birds are sensibly all still sitting on eggs in nests. There were some lapwings strolling and flying around among the black-headed gulls. It was lovely to see them. We used to have quite a few on the unimproved grass downland on our farm in Wiltshire, but I've never seen any round here in Oxfordshire before.
