Sally Mair - Loving life

Violets

I spotted today's blip as I was walking out of the Tesco Corstorphine car park. They were flowering in an area which had been very roughly cleared and was full of cut down bushes. A real flower in the wilderness.
They are one of my favourite flowers. Less so my dad's especially after I brought a clump in from the Barnton Woods and planted them in 'my' bit of garden in the early 60s. He was still trying to get rid of them when we sold the house in the mid 80s! Beautiful little flowers and so perfect.
Kathryn popped in just before 12 today and we sat in the garden for a quick cup of tea. It was lovely to see her and to sit out in the sunshine. She's about to start her last week in Fife before moving to the RHSC Mid-May. She won't miss that commute!
Ali and I went down to Leith Theatre today, Josie came too! We haven't been there since we booked it in 2018 for a wedding in 2020. After several postponements and then a covid mini wedding of 5 people last year we'll finally have our reception this summer, celebrating Josie's baptism at the same time.
It's been a beautifully warm afternoon and evening although the weather this morning took a while to clear. Good to get the washing washed, dried and put away in one day.
