Black-headed Grosbeak
These birds are fairly common during breeding and migration seasons for most of the county west of 95° longitude and as far north as the Vancouver area. But during the rest of the year they can only be found in Mexico and Central America.
This is a photo of a male. The female are much duller. Now I am completely up-to-date, especially with all vacation holes filled in. Since they have been posted within the past hour, here are the links to them. I'm back in my little bird wheelhouse!!
It would be delightful if you could take a look. No comments expected.

“Dad, can I eat the cake in the fridge?”
“Sure, but the dining room would probably be more comfortable.”
