Fans of “Peaky Blinders” will recognise the house. The management had put a few obstacles in our way, in the shape of a wedding party. However, it was still possible to sneak past and snatch a shot. 

It’s actually Arley House in Cheshire. Maybe they could have found somewhere closer to Small Heath, but this house is exactly the kind of place the character would have chosen as he climbed the social ladder.

The gardens and nursery are so beautiful. And we found the Antrobus Arms for lunch -THE very best homemade pie I’ve had in years (I had a doggie bag so there’s half here to enjoy for my supper.)

When I got home, I couldn’t find Suki. Imagine my surprise to see her happily installed in the Aldi Cat Cave. (Extra).
