Hybrid Mallard Duck
Today’s blip marks the completion of my fourth month with Blipfoto. I am making good progress with my first attempt to complete a 365 photo challenge.
I will finish out the month with an image of this hybrid bibbed Mallard duck (Anas platyrhynchos). He looks black and white, but the feathers are really dark brown. I suspect that, once upon a time, several domestic ducks were introduced into this flock and then interbred with the wild ones. My local park’s river ducks are a very diverse bunch of birds.
