The Guardian

Today was the day that summer officially started at our house - the day we put the canopy up on our deck!  Hubs and I were perched on ladders and step stools, securing the canopy to the frame while Jax observed.  Then, I settled down to watch the birds, while Jax lay on his bed under the shade of the canopy.

All was going well when suddenly Jax sprang up, hackles fully raised, growling ferociously.  Expecting to see that blasted bear, I spun around to see what was threatening us.  Nothing.  Apparently the wind fluttered the canopy which convinced Jax that we were in real and imminent danger - from the canopy.  Honestly, you can't make this stuff up!

Today is a weird anniversary of sorts marking 14 years since I had a rather large tumor removed from my brain.  That event triggered some significant changes in my life and eventually led me to rediscover my passion for photography.  Which in turn brought me to Blip.  

Today is a perfect sunny day with lots of activity in the yard - perfect for sitting under the canopy and watching the world go by.

And I think it will be plain dark today.
