In the dock

I mentioned in yesterday's post that I'd been to a meeting at the National Justice Museum in Nottingham. After it finished, I had a look round their exhibition on crime. This is the dock from the old Bow Street Magistrates' Court. The Bow Street Court is where the Bow Street Runners, the predecessors to the Metropolitan Police, were based. Many famous,  and infamous,  people have stood in this dock including Dr Crippen, accused of murdering his wife, in 1910, and Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst of the Suffragette movement in 1908. And the Kray twins in the 1960s.
