Shooting Stars
We have had a social Sunday. Morning coffee with Bev and Andrew sitting on their deck in glorious sunshine. If you get invited he makes a top class cheese scone. Then this afternoon neighbours on the other side of us invited us up for afternoon coffee. They are more elevated than us and not having a blip I took my camera and got this shot of the neighbourhood children shooting hoops. The hoop was a Christmas present and some neighbours think it's not really the place for it but I have decided it is good to see the children interacting and they get out of the way of cars and we residents know to drive in slowly and watch for children. It is a cul de sac without much traffic. I can tell you the ball didn't go in this time. The glorious tree is also a subject for discussion with the neighbours. There are three trees all this tall and the previous owner kept them shaped and at the level of the house roof. Five years later and they are blocking the views of three houses.
One Shinning Moment David Barrett
The ball is tipped
And there you are
You're running for your life
You're a shooting star
And all the years
No one knows
Just how hard you worked
But now it shows
In one shining moment, it's all on the line
One shining moment, there frozen in time . . .
. . . That one shining moment, you reached for the sky
One shining moment, you knew
One shining moment, you were willing to try
One shining moment, you knew
