Comfort food
A cold, grey day with a piercing north-east wind provided little incentive fro photography. Nevertheless, it was a very sociable day full of comfort food!
Chris came over for lunch and to borrow our lawnmower. I whipped up a carrot, lemon and coriander soup and a red onion and goat's cheese tart which filled us up nicely.
Not long after he left, CJ's Mum came over. They went to see the Bluebells at Thorpe Wood while I attended a Teams meeting. After a cup of tea Alex, CJ, Ross and I went out to Castor Hanglands to listen for Nightingales, having put together a halloumi and vegetable traybake which we left cooking in the oven under Pete's supervision.
It certainly didn't feel at all springlike on our walk, but we did hear at least three Nightingales, although they seemed a bit subdued, probably because of the bitter wind! We may have to try again on a warmer evening!
