Hill Climb ~ Backblip
We arrived at our campsite just outside Gotherington, near Cheltenham in the early afternoon and got set up, then a bite to eat and a sit in the sun. The field adjoining the campsite was full of cars and there was the constant brumm, brumm noise coming from the hill opposite which we quickly realised was the famous Prescott Hill Climb so we decided to go and have a look.
Prescott Speed Hill Climb was founded in 1938 by the Bugatti Owners’ Club and has been one of the highlights of the hill climb competition calendar ever since. Comprising 127 years of exquisite tarmac, this quintessentially English motorsport hill has welcomed the likes of Sir Stirling Moss, Norman Wisdom, Richard Hammond and pretty much every petrolhead in between over the years ………. Including, and currently, fellow Blipper, Stiffknees’s husband ……
The 2022 hill climb season opened with the first rounds of the British and Midland Hill Climb Championships, the two day event saw practise completed on Saturday and we saw a bit of the competition runs today. Mr HB was in heaven!
