Black Grouse Hunting

We were so lucky to see 8 of these birds which are comparatively rare in Switzerland. You hear their gurgling, bubbling call from miles away. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsOPv5PMOE0  )But to get photos of their parade you really have to camp near an area where you know the males display at this time of year. The photos are disappointing as they were taken from a great distance with a 600mm lens and no tripod! I have put a few extras in to show their tail feathers in detail. An extra showing the view across the Alps from Pierre de Moelle. It was a cold start!
