Cycling on la Chaussee de Brunehaut

means a straight road. We already knew that. It is also a wide road and than again narrow. So narrow that it is only 1 strip of a tractor track. Sometimes the road is interrupted because a bridge has been moved, or because a house has been built, or because a farmer has worked the ground into a field. A little hiccup and then its straight again.
It is a quiet road, but every now and then very busy. Suddenly there is a traffic jam because there is a village festival and we have to continue on foot right through the festivities.
We eat in a busy but cosy restaurant on the square with bumper cars and slot cars and snack trucks. Continuing again. On and on.
It's a wonder of the world!
