A Day Out

Well…an afternoon out.
We went to Fountains Abby. The first thing we needed to do was sit and have a coffee. Then we slowly made our way down the path stopping tow or three times to admire the view from a bench. Neither dog could work out why they weren’t allowed to just run and they did a LOT of pulling. I ended up with both dogs, one in each hand with very short leads.
Unfortunately by the time we made it down to the Deer Park Cafe it was closed (everyone knows that cafes still need to close at 4 on nice sunny bank holiday weekends!!!)
We slowly enjoyed the views on the way back up too. By then there were hardly any people about so I let the dogs off for a bit of a run which was nice and even better I spotted the geese way before either of them did and got them back on their leads.
I made spaghetti bolognaise for dinner and we watched the program on Tebay services. They were making a new lemon meringue pie recipe for their 50th anniversary and it made me crave lemon meringue pie!
Both dogs were very happy, settled and quiet. :)
