Penguin Books

The first Penguin books were published in 1935 by Allen Lane, who wanted to provide quality books at an affordable price. They cost sixpence and were colour coded, e.g. green for crime, blue for biography.  Thanks to 60Plus for hosting Mono Monday - anything literary.
