Lilac

Never bring lilac into your house, they said.  
It is the flower of death, they said.
The lilac flower keeps the smell of the corpse away, they said;

I've been told that by long dead old women for the past 18 years.

I say bring it on grim reaper and all your acolytes.  It's pretty and smells good and I'd rather appreciate it now then when I'm dead.
