Unexpected frost

It was supposed to be 39 F last night. When I got up this morning it was around 27 F. I had just cleared the straw away from the asparagus which has started poking its nose up and I left the violas out on the deck. But luckily they all survived.
As I was doing morning chores at 6:15 it was pretty and misty out but nothing struck me as a good photo. I noticed this scratcher head sitting on the table covered in frost. Definitely documented the morning. We will probably get a few more of these mornings. I just hope the new plants keep on holding their own.
