LINKS BATTERY

This is the Links Battery gun-emplacement, one of the remaining WW2 buildings at the south of Stromness.   You can see the semi-circular track where the heavy gun was managed.
Extras:  Map; a nearby building was probably for gun ammunition, now a tractor shed for the golf course; my extra yesterday featured the WW2 searchlight bunker - here it is close up and the view from inside; also along this road is the original lifeboat station, now a roofless ruin.
