Patio Flowers

The excitement of my day was a new private student, who has contracted me for an initial 25 hours 1-1 online. The focus 100% today (and every day this week) is to help him prepare his presentation for next week at an audio visual conference in Barcelona - the biggest in the world apparently. Today, we got through 24 of his 74 slides :-0  Afterwards, I recorded myself on a Padlet delivering some of his key messages so he can read them and listen again and practise on his own, together with key words he had problems with.  Long term, this won't particularly help him with his English, but it is what it is for the moment and I'm also using it as a diagnostic test so that we can work on specific things after this, hopefully. I think many of his errors are fossilized ones and will take a bit of ironing out. He seems nice, easy to work with, and he says that after trying many apps etc he now wants to take it more seriously. Fingers crossed!
