Canvey Cuckoo!

Finally!! Beyond excited this morning  to hear and then see the Cuckoo over at Canvey Wick.  We'd stopped off by chance after a quick food shop nearby, and despite the grey murky skies there was lots of birdsong to be heard.

Spotted a kestrel in a tree, so went for a wander to get closer when this chap flew overhead and landed in the tallest tree nearby! Hence the grainy photo as it was as close as my camera could zoom in! But I was happy, as was another birder who was in the right place at the right time too!

so that put me in a very good mood for the rest of the day so I've been ticking the jobs off the to do list like a mad woman today!  Also finished watching a documentary about the 'Lost Leonardo' - the DaVinci painting that went for  $450 million at auction in 2017 and hasn't been seen in public since as there's doubts about it's authenticity!f Hands up, who's got it hidden away in their house?!
