Sedgie, Pheasant, Wood Sand, Ruddy Shelduck #52-55
What a lovely few hours at RSPB Burton Mere we had today. Plenty to see including a host of warblers, including this noisy Sedge Warbler, screaming Pheasant, distant Wood Sandpiper (a lifer for me) and this sleepy Ruddy Shelduck that had just woken up.
There were also sightings of a brown hare, the first ringed plover of the year, drinker moth caterpillars and a total of 54 different species which is a record for us at BM.
We didn’t get home until after 4pm so the first task was to get some food.
I’m on my own this evening as hubby is at games, so I will hopefully complete my catch up of the last few journals. It’s been lovely seeing what you’ve all been up to over the past week or so.
