Grateful Dead - Samson and Delilah (Live at Winterland) (recorded live, 31 December 1978, Winterland Ballroom, San Francisco CA)
This month's Mojo has an excellent cover CD of live performances by the Grateful Dead between 1971 and 1978. One is from their official live album Europe '72 but all the others are from hard to find collectors' CDs. This performance appears on The Closing Of Winterland on New Year's Eve 1978. It's a traditional number sung here by Bob Weir that they learned from Reverend Gary Davis' 1956 recording.
