A Walk in the Park

It was an overcast and gloomy day, but I managed to walk the entire 1.5 mile (2.4 km) Cherry Island Marsh Trail in Lake Erie Metropark for the first time in many years. My knee replacements are really paying off now. The park is located in a coastal marsh at the mouth of the Detroit River where it flows into Lake Erie. There is an amazing variety of wildlife here, and it is one of my favorite places to watch waterfowl. It was a bonus that I finished my walk before it started to rain.
