Animals in the mail

In the mailbox today is a postage stamp featuring a red Kelpie and Merino sheep.
There is also a guide to voting from the Government, with the kangaroo and emu (neither of which can move backwards so we must keep moving forwards).
Once I heard an over-excited contestant on a radio quiz show, when asked which animals are on the Australian Coat of Arms, reply, “The kangaroo and the octopus”.
