Dandelion About To Seed
After a busy "holiday" weekend, I now revert to a more normal method of spending my day.
Today’s Blipfoto shows a dandelion seed head just about ready to disperse seeds. Dandelions have been in profusion this year. Many fields are covered in them and the road verges are often a continuous yellow strip.
The background to the photo is the tread of one of the stone steps down to the "crypt" where the indoors units of the heat pumps are located.
The tread has been "dressed" by the masons to provide a grip surface and a means to shed water. Of course after 180 years or so the tread has become home to various lichens and other growths.
It is a day for tidying up the "loose ends" and planning new projects.
Have caught up with various TV recordings including the SKY Arte Portrait and Landscape Painter series. Quite interesting and a visit to the National Portrait in Edinburgh is called for.
Also watched the Scottish Home of The Year episodes. I am always very critical of these programmes. Not for the actual entries, but for the comments made by the judges. To review a property in about 7 minutes is just completely insufficient time.
Friends have suggested we should enter our place. We could not contemplate the idea in any way.
