Still Excavating After All These Years

Vesuvius stopped time in Pompeii about 2000 years ago, and this little coastal town is still being unburied to reveal amazing mosaics, frescoes and a Roman way of life. Domus Leda was partially excavated in 1902, but only recently in 2019 was this room excavated revealing the erotic fresco of Leda and the Swan, the myth of the god Zeus having turned into a swan, impregnates Leda the Queen of Sparta.
