Dinan
On our way north to catch the ferry from St. Malo we stopped off in the town of Dinan. The 14th Century ramparts and castle overlook the River Rance and the port.
High above the old bridge towers the impressive viaduct which carries road traffic into the town.
The town is something of a tourist attraction with many ancient and narrow cobbled streets and buildings. There is a shot of part of the town at the top of the hill above the river in the first extra.
The second extra is of the Gironde ferry we took in the morning. This makes the 25 minute crossing from Le Verdon on the tip of the Gironde peninsula to Royan.
