American Gothic, Revisited

Late night practices for Mr. Mac High, and these two goons (I mean that in the most complimentary sense) are running the show. "Pitchfork" Sam and "Iron Fist" Eliza run a tight ship. This is the annual fundraiser for Doernbecher Children's Hospital, and in the six or seven years I've advised this club we have raised close to $150,000. Ten of the school's finest compete for the coveted title of Mr. Mac High, and it's a week of guys grabassing while Eliza (pageant director) and Sam (assistant director) ride herd and bust their chops. It's tough keeping up with this energy level, but it's pretty cool seeing it all come together. These kids, all of them, are the best of the best, and it's been such a treat to work with them all.
