Ticket Inspectors

There were six ticket inspectors on this evening’s train, two at either end of the carriage and two to check tickets. Since my run-in with the police during the last lockdown, I’m no longer their friend. And I was never a friend of ticket inspectors. It seems a huge waste of resources to catch the rare passenger who, for whatever reason, hasn’t tapped on.
