Lindisfarne Castle

A trip to Holy Island is always magical but spoilt a bit today by the grey dismal weather. We did our usual  circuit of the island without getting too wet. The dunes and sands of the North shore were as glorious as ever and hardly a soul to be seen. The castle and village were very busy for a damp Thursday in May but we had to visit the winery. We can't come away from Lindisfarne without the requisite bottle of mead!
