Tongeren was still awake and we were sat already on the bike. We had contact with a camping Rimburg and with another one in Jülich. To avoid any surprises. We find that we are more convenient during the day, when we know that there will be a campsite. So we had two possibilities at two different distances.

At Vroenhoven I visited the shop for art supplies to order a canvas of good size that I can pick it up on Monday. That was weird but useful. The store is located along the old Roman road.

Something I expected it would be very strange was cycling between Maastricht and Heerlen over Valkenburg. Roads belonging to my surroundings and so often cycled. It was not weird. We were just there to cycle, had lunch on a terrace in Heerlen near the thermal baths museum whereafter we continued cycling further to Rimburg. We decided to continue onto Jülich and thereby shortening the route to Cologne by 28 kilometres.
