Henleaze Lake
Well not this picture but the extra is more precise.
The extra shows just part of the 430 metre lake formed from a limestone quarry in countryside on the edge and now well within Bristol City boundaries. And a bird......
The quarry was worked out by end of 1800s and then informally and now formally became a all year round swimming and nature reserve with waiting list for membership running into several years.
The club used to have mixed changing rooms but no longer hence the eye catching ( I hope!) sign.
We went there on a tour this afternoon...
