I'm Outta Here

After checking in on the owls, I spotted one of the Great Egrets by the water's edge further along, being all white it rather stands out. Not wishing to scare it, I kept a distance as I watched it fish for its supper. I think it caught something, but I didn't get a shot of that.

It took me by surprise when it launched into the air and I managed a couple of frames. Only then did I see the heron and I was so pleased to get both in the same image. Unfortunately I had focussed on the far bank, so the heron is in focus, but the egret not.

I'm still getting to grips with photographing birds in flight. Making progress though.
