Election day

On duty today at a polling station for the local elections.
First time for me and I was interested to see how it all works. I spent most of the day directing people to the right desk to place their vote so spoke to a lot of folk! And then checking and ticking them off the list. 16 year olds were eligible to vote so we had a few first timers turn up - in school uniform. Good to see they made the effort to use their vote.
It’s a long shift - 6.30 till 10.15 - so I was well and truly exhausted by the end.
Not a huge turn out today, but pretty steady at our station. Certainly no time to sit and read my book.
