Oh no…it’s silly Saturday

Our road trip has been full of beautifully lush green spring countryside today and it’s finally sunny. We stopped for a break in the pretty little town of Fromista (Province of Palencia). It has a few 15th centuries churches, one of which, the Church of San Martin, has been recently restored. The gargoyles in these old churches are wonderfully bizarre and I had to blip this little monster for silly Saturday.

This afternoon we stopped at the Posada del Santuario near Nava de Santullán, about an hour’s drive from Santander. There is a stunning walking trail here called the Sendero del Escultor “Ursi” which has his sculptures dotted along the 11km route. It was a brilliant way to finish the day.
