Falls of Clyde

I was out early this morning and headed to Lanark for a wee wander.  P is still testing postive so I left him sleeping and thought I'd have an explore of of Falls of Clyde.  We did the falls in the later summer when we first moved up, but I thought they might be good in the spring and I had a nosy at some of the quieter woodland trials.

Quieter trails paid off as I bumped into a local feller who grew up in Lanark then spent much of his adult life running pubs and clubs in London, before coming back up to retire when his partner died.  We had a right good natter, he told me about some good local history spots, warned me about the big bull in the field who had written off two cars and would chase you, talked about re-enactment and historical european martial arts and how you can't beat a good stick and got to give his very beautiful and well behaved dog a treat.  When we finally carried on different walks he called me 'hen' which is still my favourite Scottish word,  a really nice encounter.

At the end of the walk I treated to myself to an ice cream in New Lanark (do get one if you're ever in the area, the raspberry ripple was especially good) then grabbed some garden chairs from B&M on my way home.  Came back to a P who is looking and sounding tons better and who should be back to work this week which is great.

Manky foot update: The compeed has come off my big blister and it has this horrible two-tone skin thing going on, its smaller than it was but still a decent size! I'm sure you all wanted to know that...
