‘Sunday Fun on Inverleith Pond’

Every Sunday morning, and in fact well into the afternoon, Inverleith Pond s taken over by a variety of - mostly radio controlled - model boats, including Yachts, Warships and Commercial ships - fishing vessels, police boats and pleasure cruisers and the like. 

But perhaps the most spectacular are what are called - in the model boat world - the ‘fast electrics’ speedboats that roar around the pond at a phenomenal speed - a speed that, relative to their size, looks like it must be hundreds of miles per hour!

Edinburgh Model Boat Club who organise these sessions, consists of around 50 enthusiasts and dates back in various forms, over a hundred years.
