The last remaining branches...

Our next door neighbour had the large sycamore taken down this morning as the trunk had rotted and he was worried about the wind bringing it down. The man who cut it down was amazingly agile and completed the job within 2 hours. I took us much longer than that just to remove a few big branches!
This photo shows the boys watching as the last of the branches were removed before he reduced the height and finally took the trunk down. It was a really big old tree and it seems sad but I do think the right decision was made. We have previously cut back the branches on our side as we were concerned that it would damage our roof.
Our garden and down stairs loo now have much more light and we even have sunshine in out garden at 7.30pm now whereas, before the tree was cut down, it would all have been in shade.
I will backblip a photo of 'before' on yesterday's Blip.
I shall try to remember to Blip an 'after' photo tomorrow.
