Mother's Day

A fairly non-eventful day...the grandkids spent much of the day here, and brought me a sweet little succulent in a pot to celebrate. It was another cold and drizzly morning, although it seems to be "trying" to clear up a bit more than it has. 

The garden all of a sudden seems to have ferns everywhere! This one I planted, it's a Tassel Fern, or Polystichum polyblepharum. It certainly is ferny weather, what with the gloom and the rain and the mud....

I'm about to go to a botanical garden staff party out on Sauvie Island - it's starts at 5:00 and I bet I'll be ready to come home by 7! What a weekend!
