The Party’s Over ….
For weeks they’ve worked on making sure their satin dresses have been the finest possible, the fullest, shiniest, showiest gowns within a room where everyone just wants to be the best. The garden gala’s certainly been a show - but now the tulip party’s well and truly over.
Those gowns are now a shadow of their former selves - crumpled, ragged, faded; and those faces, once immaculately made-up, show the the signs of too much partying - mascara running, lipstick smudged.
Despite all this, the beauty underneath remains, and in the crumpled fading there’s a charm all of its own. Soon, these ragged outfits will be cast aside, recycled in the compost, and our stars will get their long-overdue beauty sleep - ready to do it all again next year.
So today it’s another garden blip - best viewed on black.
Thanks for the response to yesterday’s ‘ adventurer’; I’m very grateful for good weather and a garden full of blips, as right now I’m caught between pre-travel preparation and recovery from a rather busy few days last week.
