Wood Lark

Had a lovely walk this afternoon ..... wandered through a lovely little wooded area to the sound of bird song!

It was a real treat to see this Wood Lark ...... only the second time we've ever seen one!

We watched it for ages ..... taking off from a branch ..... flying high then singing as it swooped down to land again! Brilliant!

I managed to get this image before it took off again ...... it was right at the top of the tree so this is heavily cropped but it had to be my Blip! :-)
