Feeding Time
Well actually, during daylight all the time seems to be feeding time for the blue tit hatchlings. They're now at least twice the size as when they hatched 6-7 days ago and are starting to move around more and grow feathers (they look like they have big eyebrows when this starts). Not a good photo as it's off the tv and they move quickly, but I thought you'd find it interesting as both parents are there and lots of open beaks. An admin day for me including researching new contracts for my phone when it ends soon - sooooo complicated given all the tricks they try.
Day 781 / Day 72 of no Legal Covid Requirements in England (for my record only)
Sir Keir Starmer has said he'll step down as labour leader if he receives a fixed penalty notice for 'beergate'. An interesting tactic as without doubt that would be his only option given his calls for Boris to resign, but this would present him as 'doing the right thing' and put more pressure on Boris to do so too. In the US the Biden administration has warned of 100m Covid infections this Autumn / Winter with no material changes re new variants etc. In New York scientists are trialling a vaccine that is dripped into a person's upturned nose - the idea being that it may prevent the virus taking hold in the mucus membranes where it first enters the body. A Professor at Oxford University said it was debatable whether any of the current vaccines had a long term future, and that scientists should now focus on a jab that stops transmission.
